A while ago, I had the great and challenging pleasure of creating life-size statues of the Stations of the Cross....out of paper! This was part of Holy Week at St. Madeleine's Catholic School.
As each statue was completed, it would be placed in the hallway for another phase. The statues grew to 23 figures altogether. But the real delight was watching the faces of the children walk past the giants awaiting a coat of paint, 'crown of thorns', or a veil...
Needless to say, when we unveiled the Statues for a 'Stations of the Cross' Walk-a-Thon, it was quite a success. Aside from the Washing of the Feet, the prayers, and the meditations during this gorgeous day, the impact for me was the opportunity to use my talent for God's glory...and, in the end, isn't that what it's all about?
